A TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS

ABOUT ANNA

At a time when Sacramento City Schools are again in crisis, our board needs experience, understanding, community trust, and a clear vision for the future. We need the ability to make difficult decisions and the discipline to see them through.

My commitment and effectiveness are time-tested. For years, I have tackled tough issues, asked challenging questions and pushed for better results. I’ve developed a reputation as a leader who builds coalitions, listens, and gets the job done.

Anna Molander — COMMUNITY FIRST

Stabilize our district budget

  • Develop a long-term plan rather than cycle through “boom and bust”
  • Bring together stakeholders and community advocates to identify priorities and opportunities for savings, set realistic budget goals, and then be disciplined in our allocation of resources

Improve understaffed and under-resourced schools

  • Prioritize support personnel and onsite social services for children and families
  • Restore enrichment classes (the arts, music, languages, and sports)
  • Provide early intervention programs to assist students with learning challenges

School sites that also act as neighborhood hubs

  • Support our teachers and principals in developing innovative approaches
  • Improve communication among educators, parents, and community

As a parent, Anna Molander has the passion and commitment to do better for our kids.  As a successful lawyer and grassroots organizer, she has the skills to address the needs and challenges of our district.  And, as an engaged community member, she has proven herself to be a collaborative and effective team member.

As the youngest of 9 children, Anna Molander discovered the strength of family and her dedication to community service at an early age. For more than 20 years, Anna has been at the center of efforts to improve the lives of families and neighborhoods. She is active in school district issues and has been a relentless advocate for our community, teachers, and students.
